- Pray for open eyes; to see the spiritual condition of the lost, and for more workers to go out among the lost. Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. John 4:35 NIV
- Pray for open doors; for opportunities to reach the lost. Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Colossians 4:3 NIV
- Pray for open mouths; for boldness and clarity in witnessing. Pray...also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel. Ephesians 6:19 ESV Pray...that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Colossians 4:4 ESV
- Pray for open hearts; for reception of the truth about God. One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying. Acts 16:14 NLT
Student Prayer happens in multiple settings: personally, during the weekly group meeting and on campus every Monday.
Personal Prayer:
Read Scripture and let the words sponsor and shape disciple making prayer. The more you read the Bible with disciple making in mind, the more you will find out it is a book about mission; God's mission to you and your mission to others.
Weekly Group Meeting:
Pray for God to reveal Persons of Peace—those who respond positively to the invitation to learn more about God by studying the Bible. Pray the Open Prayers:
Campus Meeting:
There are two ways to pray Mondays on campus, individually and as a group. Individual prayer consists of praying silently throughout the day for classmates, friends, and others. Ask God to create Persons of Peace; those who will welcome the invitation to discover more about God.
Group Prayer includes interested students gathering on Mondays at a specific time and location (e.g., lunch time) and splitting into pairs. Go around campus praying with the attitude of Matthew 9:36. Pray without engaging people, asking God to raise up Persons of Peace; those who are being drawn to God.
